Fees, programme, coordination and the first conversation: useful points of reference for understanding how KAMILI guides a project.

Frequently asked questions

Every project has its own particularities. The proposal defines the scope, responsibilities, fees and programme before any commitment is made.

01How much does a commission cost?

Fees depend on the scope, deliverables and level of support selected. A detailed quotation is prepared after the project has been assessed.

02What construction budget should I allow?

The construction budget is separate from the studio’s fees. It depends on floor area, the condition of the property, technical work and the level of finish. An indicative amount is discussed during the first conversation so the project can be framed realistically.

03How long does a project take?

The programme varies according to the scope, required approvals and contractor involvement. It is established once the project is sufficiently defined and adjusted if technical constraints or changes make this necessary.

04How can budget overruns be limited?

The budget is discussed from the outset, then reviewed against design choices and contractor quotations at key decision points. Any change to the scope is identified before approval.

05Who coordinates the craftspeople?

KAMILI selects and coordinates craftspeople within the agreed commission. The parties involved, their responsibilities and the planned exchanges are defined before work begins.

06Does KAMILI supervise the work?

Yes. KAMILI carries out site visits, follows the design decisions and supports completion. The frequency of visits and exact scope of supervision are tailored to the project and defined in the contract.

07Can the commission end after the concept stage?

KAMILI favours accompanying a project through to completion in order to preserve its coherence. Any division into phases is assessed according to the project and defined in the proposal.

08Can you work from existing plans?

Yes. Available plans, photographs and documents provide the basis for the first conversation. Dimensions, the condition of the property and technical feasibility are verified before any decision that commits construction work.

09Do you work outside your region?

Based in Valais, KAMILI works throughout French-speaking Switzerland and can support projects anywhere in Switzerland. Feasibility is assessed according to location, travel requirements and the scope of the commission.

10What happens if the first proposal is not right?

The proposal is presented and discussed with the client. Feedback and approval stages are defined in the commission; any request beyond the agreed scope is identified before further work is undertaken.

11What happens during the first meeting?

This initial, no-obligation conversation lasts up to one hour and preferably takes place by video call. The property, uses, constraints, budget and programme are discussed. A visit may be considered depending on the project.

12When should I contact the studio?

As soon as you can present the intended project, the property concerned and an initial order of magnitude for the budget. Starting early allows more time to define the scope before irreversible decisions are made.
