Guide
The proposed desk moves away from the entrance axis and its curve naturally leads towards the waiting and consultation rooms.

Spatial study · Reception space · Practice
The reception of a multidisciplinary practice lacked privacy. The desk acted as a barrier, wayfinding was unclear and very white lighting reinforced an institutional feeling.

02 / The intention
Make arrival self-evident, protect conversations and create a reassuring atmosphere, while planning phases that limit interruption to the practice.
03 / The design direction
An oak curve guides without intrusive signage. Grey-green tones, textiles and soft lateral light create an environment that is professional without feeling clinical.

04 / The design decisions
Every choice responds to the starting point and shows how KAMILI connects layout, use, light and materials.
The proposed desk moves away from the entrance axis and its curve naturally leads towards the waiting and consultation rooms.
An integrated acoustic screen and a setback prevent conversations from being overheard from the seating area.
The study combines precise surveys, prefabricated joinery and phasing to be confirmed with contractors before any programme is announced.
05 / Initial state & proposal
These visualisations form part of a spatial study. They develop an initial state and a design proposal; they do not document a completed project.

06 / The intended quality
The intended result is an arrival understood from the threshold, a calmer wait and more discreet conversations, without promising a programme before contractors have been consulted.
Nature of the study
Spatial studyAn independent study developed by KAMILI to present a design process and point of view. It does not document a completed project.Designer’s note
“In a reception space, design should first of all take care. Success lies in almost silent cues: a curve, a light, the right distance.”
